Thomas R. Smith is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters.  He has over 30 years of experience and has tried both jury and non-jury trials in federal and state courts, resulting in numerous verdicts for clients.

Thomas’ litigation experience includes complex products liability matters pursued against major corporations both in the United States and internationally, including Toyota Motor Corporation, Bryer, LTD, Ford Motor Corporation, the National Football League, the Philadelphia Eagles, PSE&G and successfully fought on behalf of a client against the tabaco industry. Tom’s personal injury clients include victims injured in construction related accidents.

Mr. Smith served as a Master in the New Jersey Inn of Courts, Workers’ Compensation and was the first class of lawyers certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Workers’ Compensation attorney.  He continues handling matters on behalf of injured workers in the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Tom has lectured before lawyers, insurance representatives, judges, and others in the areas of workers’ compensation and personal injury law.  His representation included many building trade unions throughout the State of New Jersey.

Thomas joined Roselli Griegel Lozier & Lazzaro, P.C., in June 2021, after a distinguished career with a long-established Mercer County firm, serving as Chair of the Personal Injury department and Managing Partner.  Tom resides in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, where he has generously volunteered for a vast array of community-related organizations, including membership on the Hamilton Area Board of Directors, where Tom served as Board Chair in 2005-2007.  As a Board member, Tom was honored as YMCA Person of the Year and served as delegate for two sessions in the YMCA USA. Tom also enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for the Miracle League of Mercer County and is active in the New Jersey Special Olympics.
